About Bettsys – Where it all started….
It goes without saying I am an animal lover! Together me and my family have 6 dogs, 3 cats, 12 horses and I wouldn’t change it for the world! I began my career in 2009 when I undertook a business management apprenticeship through Selby college. I knew I always wanted to work for myself but all I knew was animals.
In 2011 I took my dogs to a local groomer who after chatting to, gave me an amazing opportunity to work for her as an apprentice dog groomer.
Since I started, I haven’t looked back and with my passion and love for dogs I finally found my dream job! I had my ups and downs throughout learning the skills as I soon realised that it wasn’t as easy as my professional tutor made it look…
However, after 2 years of persevering, practising on my own dogs and friends dogs I began to produce some beautiful cuts and achieved my diploma in pet grooming and NVQ level 2 & 3 in business management.
In my third year I started to advertise myself and then not long after Bettsy’s was born.
Fast forward to 2021 and I’m proud to say I have a fabulous ever-growing clientele base who continue to support me.
MEET THE TEAM
BETH – OWNER/HEAD STYLIST
With a Level 3 diploma in dog grooming professional advanced & 10 years’ experience in dog grooming Beth is Bettsys head Stylist and founder. She loves to experiment with different styles & create beautiful grooms. Beth has meticulous attention to detail when grooming and loves sculptingbreeds such as poodles, bichon’s & Cockerpoo’s. Beth is a proud dog mum to 2 dogs Ruben & Bella who are usually dotted around the salon doing meet & greet or lounged out on the sofa.
LOUISE – S.A.C Dip DOG GROOMER
Louise has been professionally trained by beth and achieved her diploma in dog grooming professional advanced. Louise loves grooming the big hairy dogs and gets great satisfaction in the finished result of a good bath & de-shed. Louise is a proud dog mum of 2 Lhasa Apso’s Millie & Tessy who occasionally visit the salon when in need of a spruce up.
